Introducing new Technology to your students certainly has its challenges. “While with any new technology there is a period of nervousness for teachers (more than students) in terms of training, course preparation, and implementation, if the nervous state of use quickly becomes habit, then the use of technology can become rote and meaningless for the student.http://www.campustechnology.com/articles/69331_1/ This great article by Ruth Renyard will be the  basis for the discussion in This weeks Virtual Discussion.

Are you getting feedback from your students or colleagues?  If so how are you doing it? There are many online services such as Survey Monkey, Poll Everywhere, doodle.ch and so on. There’s also the old fashion email thread option. Within a classroom there are student response systems (clickers) and of course the good ol “give me a show of hands…” option.  Have you used any of these?  Are you interested?  If so join us this Friday 10/17/08 at 11am - 12pm MST as we explore the world of feedback.

Personally I’ve been really excited about the “Live Form” feature within Google Docs. You may have seen it in action with our little questionnaire we have sent out. If not click here to check it out. It’s really easy to create these types of forms in Google docs and I would be more than willing to do a demo. You can join the conversation by going to http://connect.cuonline.edu/flc/ any time during the hour, and choosing "Enter as Guest".  Please feel free to pass this on to others who may be interested.
